Our Story

The Proprietors

We're a family of four from the Northern Virginia area. We lead frenetic lives at work, school, and a myriad of kid activities. In 2019, we decided to make the leap and invest in an OBX property to use as our family getaway. An oasis away from the general chaos of life. Over time, we hope that this home becomes a magnet to draw our kids back to us as spread their wings in the world.

This is the first rental property we've owned and it's proven to be a fun and rewarding experience. We've put in A LOT of effort to fix up the house and to transform it into a warm and inviting beach getaway. We hope it brings as much joy to your family as it does to ours.

Our Home

In Between Dreams is our 6BR / 6.5BA beach house in Duck, NC @ OBX. Located in Duck Landing, you’ll enjoy private beach access, oceanside clubhouse with restrooms, tennis courts, game room, gym, and indoor pool (open year round). Located within walking distance to the beach or to the shops and restaurants of Duck Village, this property truly offers a one-of-a-kind experience for the family.

Arrive, park your car and never move it until it’s time to go home. Take a short walk to catch a glimpse of the sound and the nearby boutiques and shops. Enjoy restaurants for all tastes, from family friendly casual to 5-Star dining overlooking the water -- ALL within walking distance. You can even walk to the Village markets for fresh vegetables, seafood, and meats!

This property is dog-friendly, including a washing station in the ground floor bathroom. Please limit to no more than 2 dogs of no more than 50lbs each.

New for 2023: Beautiful new exterior paint color! The pool has been resurfaced. New couches and curtains for top-level living room.

New for 2022: Roku sticks with hulu live streaming on every TV, new 65" LED TV in family room, new stainless steel range, and Electric Vehicle Charging Station (Level 2, no charge for use).

New for 2021: New Leesa Mattresses for every Bedroom, new stainless steel dishwasher, and refrigerator, new outdoor dining set, updated landscaping, new cornhole set.

Top-Level: Great Room with 65” LCD TV, Blu-Ray, Surround Sound, Decks on two sides, Kitchen with Bar seats 4, Dining Table seats 10, Loft with Table seats 4, King Master Bedroom with LCD TV and Deck Access; Half Bathroom on Landing.

Mid-Level: Den with seating and Deck Access, King Master with LCD Smart TV, DVD and Deck Access; King Master with TV, DVD, and Deck Access; Master with 2 Twins, TV and Deck Access.

Ground-Level: Den with 42" LCD TV, Kitchenette with Full-size Refrigerator, Microwave, and Sink, Cabana Full Bathroom with Hall Access, Master with a Duo Bunk, and TV; Bedroom with a Duo Bunk, and TV; Patio with Picnic Table with access to Pool Deck, Covered Parking.

Extras: Private Pool (12' x 28'), Hot Tub (seats 8), Wireless Internet Access, DVD players, device charging stations, 2 Refrigerators, 2 Microwaves, High Chair, Gas Grill, Fireplace (not currently operational), No Smoking or Vaping, Dogs Allowed, Parking: 4+ Cars, Distance to the Beach: 1432 ft.

How to Book

We currently rent our property through Outer Banks Blue. They provide great services and offer a great 'no-suprises' booking experience. The property rents year-round on a Sunday-Sunday weekly cycle. We allow partial week rentals before Memorial Day and after Labor Day.

Guest Safety FAQs

How is the property cleaned between renters?

Our property underwent a ‘deep clean’ just before the first in-season check-in.
Our cleaners will use CDC-10, a powerful disinfectant on all hard surfaces AND frequently touched surfaces such as light switches, handles on drawers and cabinets, faucets, handrails, coffee makers, toasters, TV remotes, etc.
Soft surfaces such as pillows, comforters, couches, etc. will be misted with CDC-10. The mist will be applied to bed comforters, pillows, and on the mattress before the sheets are put on. All linens are professionally cleaned and arrive in shrink wrap.
Cleaners will wash a set of four dishes and glasses in the dishwasher, so that when you arrive you’ll have a few sanitized and clean dishes no one has touched.

What about the hot tub, pools, and outdoor areas?

The pool and hot tub are cleaned & serviced once on Sunday through turnover and once mid-week. This includes exterior cleaning with CDC-10 where needed. According to the CDC, the COVID-19 virus cannot survive on the inside of a properly serviced hot tub or pool.

What if there are maintenance issues at the property while we are there?

Issues arising at a vacation rental are inevitable. We ask that you report everything right away.
Our property manager would like to avoid sending employees to the property except in emergency situations. Should they need to send maintenance onsite, they can make arrangements to perform service while you’re not home.
